Laura Salazar is the first ufc gym-made pro fighter. She originally walked into the UFC gym in Rosemead, California looking to lose weight. She soon began training and competing in muay thai competitions and amateur mma bouts under the coaching of Anthony Britton. She built up an impressive resume before turning pro.

In 2011, she won the World Supergrands Martial Arts Championships in Muay Thai.

In 2012, she won the world championships of Pankration for team USA in Sparta Greece.

In 2013, she started her amateur MMA career and went 3-0.

She also holds a muay thai record of 17-3

In 2013 Laura auditioned for The Ultimate Fighter: Rousey vs. Tate. Though she did not make the cast, she did get the opportunity to travel to Thailand to train at Tiger Muay Thai Camp.

She now holds a Professional MMA record of 4-1, with her lone loss coming to Christine Stanley at Invicta FC 11 on a fight that she took on essentially 1 day notice.

Her dream is to become the first UFC Gym made professional fighter to make it to the UFC.

She is one to watch.
